I'm certainly not putting their friendship befor matchmaking as you can see from this quote of mine;

The word 'long' seems to have crept in somehow.
What I want to say is...'before their friendship';
-First evening Emma decides
-aquaintance starts
-friendship follows

The emotion of friendship must have taken some time to develop.
