Road vs assembly   Written by Reeba (2/1/2011 12:33 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Donwell Road, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

I think when you willingly go to a place you are bound to acknowledge the people there.

It isn't the same as a chance meeting on the road.
We are told directly or indirectly that what Darcy did wasn't the good thing to do.
I don't even think the crowd at the assembly was from Robert Martin's class.

We have an important character here who is of a class not dealt with by JA in any of her other books.

There is no mention of any criticism from any quarter of Emma, the ON has neglected to tell us either directly/tongue in cheek or through Emma's thought which would go something like, "she refused to take any steps of introduction of herself with Mr Martin, and took the opportunity of observing them from far."
Excuse my attempts at trying to write like JA but I hope you get the direction of my thoughts. The writer doesn't think it of any great consequence.
