Mr. Knightley is a businessman. He must see clearly in order to run his land most efficiently. He certainly knows which families deserve praise as being honourable and useful to him. That does not make him blind to class; I am certain he does not socialize with his tenants at the same level he would with Mr. Woodhouse or Mrs. Weston.
