Emma   Written by Bridget D (1/31/2011 1:20 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Assertions Emma does not really believe?, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

I think taht she beleives genuinely that he's unpolished, not a gentleman, not good enough for Harriet.. and in essence, she's right, He's not a gentleman. But given H's dubious social positon she's not really likelyt o have a chance of marrying a gentleman.

I think that she exaggerates in her own mind a bit and she also exaggerates when talkign to Harriet to push the girl to think h'es not the man for her. We KNOW she's wrong... but so are most people at soem time in their lives....
