in consequence of the missive, Mr. Woodhouse and his fear of marriage...., penned by jeffrey
even begin to feature what it would be like to be married to this fussy man. And that brings something that I may bring up again -- Mr Woodhouse seems to be very emasculated and practically sexless in his old age (not sure how old he is but I presume he is over 70). As someone approaching that age myself, I know that even today society assumes that anyone over the age of 65, except for celebraties, has somehow surrendered all their sexuality when they get their Medicare card. Could it be that Mr Woodhouse's attitude toward sex was/is similiar to his fussiness in other areas of his life, and he found it distasteful but necessary to produce an heir? Hence the dislike of the married state for other people as well?
