Treatment   Written by Reeba (1/29/2011 3:15 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I did not mean to imply necessarily physical interaction..., penned by BarbaraB
Are you new?

I think it is this word that is causing the confusion :)

I understand this word 'treatment' to mean a behaviour towards another person when face to face, but obviously you mean the 'opinion' that Emma is giving Harriet about Robert Martin.

Regarding this matter I've expressed my thoughts in the post you responded to (and in a few others :) )

Of course I don't approve of it, but the degree of my disapproval is to a much lesser extent.
Robert Martin doesn't know of these comments, so I don't wish to condone the stupidity of the person listening to them.

How naive/silly/stupid does one have to be to listen to this when you have been fond of the family and person, is beyond me.
This makes all of Emma's assertions (which she doesn't really believe in) neither here nor there.

Therefore I'm unable to take all this seriously.
All I see is that this behaviour of the two is setting the stage for some future action. :)
