Sorry I dont have the book to hand! I looked at it last night, in bed... so I wasn't sure where Mr K says that Emma's influeunce will only make H uncomfortable with the station of life she was placed in... so In effect yes, he IS stating that really H shoudl be left in the class she was born/placed in, and should nto really try and rise too far out of it. so really if we are to apply modern standards he is early showing that he's as much of a "snob" as Emma...
