Are you new?

Yes they were wealthy landed gentry wtih a decenetly long lineage. Not as rich perhaps as Mr Darcy, but he is probalby the richest and most aristocratic of her heroes. we KNOW that teh Woodhouses are the first family in Highbury... becauase Austen tells us so. Both girls have handsome fortunes, £30k each. We know that Hartfield is not a big estate, but there is land and a big house...
