I agree   Written by Nina RG (1/28/2011 8:46 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, The Martins and Emma, penned by Bridget D
Are you new?

Of course Emma is Mr Martin's superior and I was not suggesting anything else, which is why I deliberately chose the words "look down her nose at them". There is a difference between preserving social distinctions and calling a sensible man "clownish" and "illiterate and coarse" (4) just to serve her own needs. I am not saying Emma should be intimate with the Martins, invite them to dinner etc. but there is more to the Martins than reaches her eye:)
