in consequence of the missive, The discussion between Mr Knightley and Mrs Weston, penned by Nina RG
I was pleasantly surprised by the familiar banter between Mrs Weston and Mr Knightley - where he teases her for 'receiving a very good education from [Emma]' on becoming a good wife by 'submitting your own will, and doing as you were bid', and then saying that Mrs Weston has been 'rather thrown away' on her marriage to Weston. Obviously the two men are good friends of long standing, and Mrs Weston understands them both enough not to be offended!
I like the 'humorous' aspect of Mr Knightley revealed in his conversation with Mrs Weston, nicely balancing the 'ode to Emma' which follows: 'Such an eye! ... And so brilliant!' etc.
