I agree that the Woodhouse's would have to have Written by AnnetteJ (1/26/2011 3:29 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, She could have been a governess elsewhere, penned by kathleen (elder)

a housekeeper, because I can't see Emma cooking! Austen didn't write much about servants, except perhaps for Mrs.Reynolds in P&P, did she? I tend to wonder why she didn't -- does anyone know or have a theory as to why these important people in the household were almost non-existant in her works.
