My inspiration for a poetry contest was to do 'em all!

Weeks 1 & 5 are haiku
Weeks 2 & 6 are cinquains
Weeks 3 & 7 are limericks
Week 4 is clerihews
week 8 will be voting for overall winner

By Friday morning* (28th January), please send your haiku to me at pemberley.laraine@gmail.com.
On Saturday morning, I post all the haiku in one post here
By Monday morning, please send your vote for the best haiku to me at pemberley.laraine@gmail.com
On Tuesday morning, I announce the week's winner.
*Morning is 9:00AM CST, i.e., GMT -6:00

Don't know what a haiku is? It's a seventeen-syllable, three-line poem, with five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third line, as follows:
