in consequence of the missive, I did something I probably shouldn't have..., penned by Jane Eyre (from Canada)
I've found that a man who prefers his solitude often prefers a quiet creature for companionship. Surely he might be enthralled for a bit by this woman, enraptured by her beauty and charm. But those once enraptured may see more clearly at a clarifying moment.
That's not to say that this woman is not sincerely attached to him. But she also may be attracted to the prestige that a union with him might provide. What attracts her to this man who seems to keep to himself? She seems to be more energetic and boisterous compared to the man you've described. They may not make for long-term companions.
Have patience. An intelligent man will seek with his heart. And if he does not, he is a fool.
