Dear Lady Catherine,
I really need your advice. I've just had the weirdest encounter.
I was standing in the middle of a road -- I admit that it was careless and stupid, but the road is usually empty. I was nearly run over! Luckily I escaped unharmed, but the driver sprained his ankle. We were both very angry as you might imagine.
I calmed down, sure that it was the last time I ever saw him anyway, but it turns out he's my employer. I am his daughter's tutor. I find him very intimidating because Grace couldn't describe him very well. The nicest thing she could say was that he loved dogs. And you should have seen the freaky pictures of him that Adele drew. His face was covered with an apple, and the second picture was him, very distant, standing on a mountain.
I don't want to judge anyone unfairly, but it doesn't look too good, does it? I'm afraid he is neglectful to Adele. And how will he treat me? Grace promised I wouldn't see him as he rarely stays in his house.
What should I do? How should I behave? Your advice will be much appreciated.
I've enclosed an account of said accident.
