Frank still owes respect and duty to his natural father. If HE were against his marrying Jane, he should at least listen to him and take on board his objections, even if in the end, he might feel he still was in the right ot marry her. But Mr W is not likely to object to F's marrying a nice decent girl like J whose only problem is that she has no money. He does not have to get anyone's consent to marry J as he's of age, but obvioiusly if he married her during Mrs C's lifetime, seh would probalby persuade Mr Churchill to cut him out of the will and cut off his allowance, so he would not be able to support her.
