Gigs   Written by bridget D (3/18/2013 2:28 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, carriage, penned by Nikki N
Are you new?

A gig was a more practical carriage, which he could use with any old horse, for getting round the farms. So I should think it was useful to keep and make use of at times. I dont think that his having "little spare cash" was that serious a problem, it jsut meant that he didnt want to waste his money on keeping a pair of "good carriage horses" who would be eating their heads off and not doing any work sinc he rarely used his carraige. But yes I can't see him having more than one "proper" carriage for a lady and possibly soemthing like a gig or pony cart that he might use himself...

And I think that he'd have to have at least one proper carraige, for status reasons.
