I don't know if you have already cared of an elderly person, with special mental needs? It is rather trying indeed.


The fact is that she had plenty time left for her leisure! Particularly for thinking, as bedtime was very long at Hartfield.
About Mr Knightley managing their estate, not officially, but de facto, it comes from chapter 53 : "- Whom did he ever want to consult on business but Mr Knightley? - Who was so useful to him, who so ready to write his letters, who so glad to assist him?" And it was likely to be understatement, in order not to hurt Mr Woodhouse!
