Emma   Written by bridget D (3/16/2013 3:07 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Emma and Darcy, penned by Nikki N
Are you new?

Also Darcy was the only son, for many years an only child and in Austen eldest sons are usually spoiled and often useless, like Tom Bertram.. Darcy's not so bad, in that he's a good man, a good brother and landlord etc. But he is arrogant, adnd so is Emma. She has too little to do, and too many people admiring her and she's never been taught self discipline. So she spends too much time thinking about the minituae of social interaction in her small village, and deciding that as she is the first lady of the area, she has the right to order others about and decide who is the most important after herself. And there's noone who can really check her wehn she goes too far with this.
