in consequence of the missive, contradictory?, penned by Nikki N
I cannot imagine that Emma tells herself, "after a generation (or a couple if I'm still unrelenting) Coles will be as respectable as Mr Weston is now." And that, their trade at present is lower than what Mr Weston was doing before buying Randall, and what his brothers still do, even if their trade has made them the second richest, (more than Mr Weston) and if they wished they could buy property bigger than Randalls.. For Emma, class is what she thinks regarding the Knightleys and Donwell when she's roaming the grounds on the strawberry picking day. I am convinced Emma just goes along with her whims and fancies. In reality, in spite of his family's rise, Mr Weston is considered low by the Churchills - and his brothers are still in trade. >Darcy was given good principles (but also spoiled) by his parents, Still it was dissimilar to Emma's in every way;
I don't think Emma was taught or encouraged in any of these things by Miss Taylor or her father.
