Are you new?

You are welcome. We see Emma at her worst, when she is learning her hardest lesson, in this novel -- no wonder some readers do not give her credit!

She never mentions that she was right, and Mr. Knightley wrong, about Miss Fairfax, either; either about Miss Fairfax being reserved, or about Emma having as much right to choose whom she wishes for a friend, as Mr. Knightley has in choosing an open temper in a wife!

She still has faults unaddressed at the end of the novel, but we see that she can learn and grow, and I, at least, am satisfied that she will.
