since at the time the whole of Ireland was part of the United Kingdom, and further west than Wales or Cornwall. Catherine would only give up the Celts if hard pressed. And as she has never been outside England, and not travelled very much within it, it is within the bounds of possibility that "her own country" means England and she might be prepared to give up Northumbria and Cumbria as well as Cornwall and is not thinking of Scotland, Wales and Ireland at all.
